BAU
From Shadow Unit Wiki
The Behavioral Analysis Unit of the (real-life) Federal Bureau of Investigation exists to provide behavioral based investigative and/or operational support to investigations of complex and time-sensitive crimes, typically involving acts or threats of violence. [1]
In Shadow Unit, the Anomalous Crimes Task Force is a part of the BAU. The rest of the BAU, when they refer to the ACTF at all, call it "down the hall." The BAU distinguishes between 'normal' crimes and WTF crimes by using the Houdini clause. Occasionally, BAU agents work on ACTF cases (such as the Danville Vermont Gamma) and ACTF agents help out on BAU cases (such as Joshua Lynch).
