Biography

Daniel Brady was born in Texas. There, and in college, he was active in theater. It was in high school, however, that Brady realized that he was gay [3].

He did not tell his mother or father that he is gay until episode 3x05 "Closet Monster" [4], although he suspects that his mother knew already [5]. Grandma Gilmer taught him to cook despite Grandpa Gilmer's disapproval [6].

For a while, Brady was a member of the military police, but was given an honorable discharge; the reasons have not been explicitly revealed, but the DVD extra "Don't Ask" implies that he was discharged under the Defense Department's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy (which permitted gay and lesbian servicemembers to remain in the service as long as they stayed in the closet). After he got out of the Army, he joined the Dallas police department, working homicide. While there, he met and became involved with Andre Kent. After that ended badly, he joined the FBI and ended up in Shadow Unit.

His closest bond on the team is with Nicolette Lau. There is speculation over his feelings for Chaz Villette. He is currently dating Gray Putnam [7] [8].

After Chaz was injured during the events of Refining Fire, Brady was the only ACTF agent not to visit him once he regained consciousness, leaving Chaz to wonder if Brady was mad at him. [9] Instead, Brady was having serious personal problems dealing with his not having been able to protect Chaz. These issues eventually led to Stephen Reyes having an FBI psychiatrist, Dr. Kay Baylor, evaluate Brady. [10]

He currently lives in Woodbridge, Virginia. [11]

He is a hunter, who has provided Chaz with venison from time to time ("converts adorable helpless woodland creatures into burgers"). [12]
