cvillete and trollcatz have speculated about Gammas in earlier times. In most pre-modern societies, getting enough food to nourish a Beta or Gamma metabolism would have been extremely difficult for all buut the very rich.[1]
Recently, the expanded team has been successful enough at dealing with active Gammas that they have had time to do some very basic research on the matter.[2]
