Biography
Chaz Vilette's full name is Charles Travis Villette. He was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. His mother was Adeline Villette, a recent transplant from Tyler County, Texas [3], who later worked as a prostitute. His father was William Villette, Adeline's brother, a gamma who raped and impregnated her [4].
When Chaz was seven, his mother died of an overdose [5]. After that, he grew up in a series of foster homes[6] [7] [8], before finally dropping out of school and getting admitted to Princeton at the age of sixteen [9].
Chaz has a history of high-risk activities [10], though it appears to predate his involvement in Shadow Unit. These days he's well known for his cooking [11] (see also: shoggoth), safely rock climbing in a gym with his work buddies [12], and taking care of a stray cat called Angry Kitteh [13]. This does not, however, mean that he is harmless or domesticated.
When he first moved to the DC area, he stayed for a couple of weeks at Esther Falkner's house, where he "hit it off famously" with Esther and Ben's daughter Rebekah. He has since been the "trusted grownup" who stayed with Rebekah while the rest of the family took a two-week vacation. [14] He didn't have nearly as pleasant an experience at Quantico, however, pointing his weapon at his small-arms instructor, Lisa Kerry, and nearly kneecapping her. [15] [16] He did, however, score 98% on his Defensive and Pursuit (driving tactics) course, and would have had a perfect score had his instructor, Agent Bulowski, not chickened out during a bootlegger reverse. [17]
He gets along well with his current neighbors, Mr. Wojchowski and the Ngs.[18] One of the folks on the second floor of his apartment building, Mrs. Galarza, gave him a cutting of Cuban oregano, which not even Chaz's black thumb has been able to kill off, and which is featured in Chaz's famed Chile Verde recipe. He has close friendships with his coworkers, particularly Daphne Worth and Hafidha Gates. The three of them communicate a good deal on LiveJournal, and often play practical jokes on each other and other team members. He and Hafidha have a running competition to get the last doughnut at the staff meetings on Friday. Daphne asked him to be her best man when she and Tricia Andreoli got married. [20]

It has been speculated that Brady's feelings for Villette are not platonic.
He has an active dating life, and during the first season's timeline was involved with Amarilis and then later Tasha McAndrews. There was also an incident with a girl in a Plaid Handkerchief. He has managed to mostly suppress his crush on his coworker, Nicolette Lau [22], even though both Nikki and Hafidha know of the crush. [23]
Chaz is currently classified as a beta [24], though after the events of 1x08, Refining Fire, in which he broke through, this may be subject to change [25].
He was very badly injured during Refining Fire, and was airlifted to Johns Hopkins Medical Center to recover. His care team there included Dr. Amrita Srinivasan. [26] After his discharge, he received physical therapy from Mark [27] and massage therapy from Amy. [28] Other medical personnel involved in his recovery have included Dr. Kay Baylor [29] and Doctor Petovski [30].
On October 22, 2008, after suffering nightmares about a (non-anomalous) UNSUB named Joshua Lynch, Chaz deleted his LiveJournal. He undeleted it a week later.
In the episode Getaway, he went to Las Vegas and reunited with Martina Alcantar. He came back from Las Vegas with a tattoo of the Chinese character for "Sufficient" on his right wrist. [31]

Chaz is "less ambidextrous" [32][33] than he thought, finding he shoots better left handed. He is ambivalent about guns, [34][35] while still wanting to be good enough with them to protect the team [36]. His own lack of confidence with firearms has led him at assault at least one gamma in hand to hand rather than risk hitting a team mate [37].
Has doctorates in statistics and abnormal psychology. [38]
He created his Twitter account on August 15, 2010; his first tweet was about returning to Las Vegas.

Current theories about Chaz include:
- That he is a gamma.
- That his external manifestation is an outgrowth of a history of flying under the radar in foster homes.
- That he received the Anomaly from his mother at the moment of conception, because his conception was a trauma and thus a crack.

Chaz had a kB ("KaBoom!"), destroying his unloved .40 S&W GLOCK 22 or 23. As he reported in his LiveJournal, "My Gun. Essploded. In my hand." [40]
