Clemson McCain was the first captured gamma, apprehended by agents Karl Demmer and Marmaduke Stone, and the first gamma inmate in Idlewood.[1][2]][3]

Timeline: 1957-1964

Location: Texas (and possibly the rest of the Deep South)

Age: 64, as of 2009

Classification: Gamma

Gammanalysis

Crack: unknown, possibly the death of his father in 1957

Manifestation: the ability to cause people to die of arsenic poisoning by touching them.

Victims: Doris Perkins, Mabel Sweeney, Harold Lewinsky, Joanne Betts, Isabel Purdy, Mary Susannah Johnson, Arthur King, Arlene Summers, Randall Washburn, his brother Edgar McCain.

Current Status: Dead. Held at Idlewood facility until his death at 15:47 Christmas Day 2009. [4]

Note: McCain was the source of much of the existing knowledge of gamma metabolism.
