Duane

Duane (last name unknown) was a copyeditor, presumably for the Shadow Unit TV show. However, in the Refining Fire episode, Chaz was described as "flipping open" his cellphone, which has elsewhere been established to be an AOP (which doesn't flip open). Will Shetterly stated that the goof-up was "the copyeditor's mistake", and mentioned that that would probably be the last time Duane was hired.

He has since been implicated in several other errors [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]. The fact that he seems never to be fired (or at least keeps getting re-hired) has led to speculation that he's the in-law of a WTF Network executive [6]. After one particular typo was reported in "Ligature", Elizabeth Bear stated that Duane had been fired. [7]
