Federal Bureau of Investigation

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the principal investigative arm of the United States Department of Justice. The Anomalous Crimes Task Force, better known to fans as the Shadow Unit, is a subgroup of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit.

FBI Headquarters is in the J. Edgar Hoover Building in Washington, DC. Since the Shadow Unit offices are in the Hoover Building, most episodes of the Shadow Unit TV show are at least partially set there.

The FBI also has field offices and Resident Agencies throughout the United States. The FBI Academy is in Quantico, Virginia.
