Joseph Lawrence Hakes (aka Bloody Larry) is one of the nastiest gammas kept at the Idlewood facility. In the DVD extra Safekeeping, Daniel Brady watches him finish a meal before starting an interview; Stephen Reyes watches the tape of a later interview in the DVD extra Dragons. His capture (by Reyes and Solomon Todd) is shown in the DVD extra Hall of Mirrors.

His cell at Idlewood is carefully arranged to prevent him ever getting a line of sight to any other person. As further insurance, even the television cameras monitoring his cell are arranged so that when he stares into them, he is not looking in the direction of any human being.
The team says he should only be interviewed "By remote. Through sealed doors." [1]
