Rohit Mehta is a statistician at the University of Iowa, who shared an office with Chaz Villette in grad school [1]. He taught Chaz how to make sambhar.
Rohit and Chaz lost contact with each other after grad school, but reconnected once Chaz looked Rohit up on Facebook. Rohit had not known that Chaz was an FBI agent [2], and Chaz had not known that Rohit was gay [3].
