Talk:Eileen Cho

I'm assuming that the lack of a "not" in "is her actual name" is either a misreading or a typo:

  • "Please, please tell me "Mrs. Chow" is her real name, and not a descriptive nickname" -- MG
  • "I could tell you that. But I would be lying." -- Bear

Where Did the Nickname Come From

Is it from the LJ entries or something? As my reading of [1] gives me the impression that its Idlewood's staff that uses that nickname.--YuriPup 18:04, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Yes. Check the references in the article itself that go to the LJs, specifically this one. Jim T 20:55, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Given to or used by? And do you think they would use the term in their professional guise, rather than LJ personae? --YuriPup 22:31, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Ah, sorry; didn't understand that your question wasn't "Who uses it?" but "Who gave it to her?" We don't know for sure that the Idlewood staff use it; Reyes just says that "they" do. It's entirely possible that he's talking about his agents. Hmm...<dig dig dig>.Here's them doing so around the time of the extra. Which is not to say that Idlewood staff *didn't*. Anyway!  :-) Yes, we shouldn't claim that Chaz et al gave her that nickname.Jim T 02:01, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Redirect

I reestablished my redirect to Eileen Cho.

First off its causing an extra hit in the gammas and the Gammas at Idlewood cats, secondly Ms. Chow is clearly a nickname for Eileen Cho and doesn't need deserve its own page, third I had preserved all the text on this page (unchanged as I recall) on the Eileen Cho page in the notes, though it might deserve its own subheading.--YuriPup 22:42, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Let's move this discussion over to the main boards http://www.shadowunit.org/smf/index.php?topic=625.0 - it's a better discussion medium, and we probably want to be consistent throughout the Wiki, not just on one particular gamma. EdmundSchweppe 02:12, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
I'll answer there too, but here's my original comment while you were editing:
Strong disagree on part 2; "Mrs. Chow" now doesn't appear in the Category:Nicknames page, and it should. Your part one (with which I do agree!) can be fixed by removing the extraneous categories from Mrs. Chow page. Jim T 02:17, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Didn't know there was a cat nicknames. I added to the redirect stub for Mrs Chow, so now it does and redirects to Eileen Cho. I think that covers your concerns...--YuriPup 02:23, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
