Template:USPlaceHideState

The USPlaceHideState template will automatically generate category tags for the given place in both the Category:Places and Category:Places By US State categories. Unlike the similar Template:USPlace template, USPlaceHideState does not display the state in the resulting wikitext, although it does use the proper state value in the Category:Places By US State tag.

Usage

To use this template, put the following somewhere on the place page:

{{USPlaceHideState|name=City|state=State}}

substituting the place's name for City and the state for State.

For example, if making a place page for the Johns Hopkins Medical Center, use the following:

{{USPlaceHideState|name=Johns Hopkins Medical Center|state=Maryland}}

This will produce the following:

Johns Hopkins Medical Center [[Category:Places]] [[Category:Places By US State|Maryland,Johns Hopkins Medical Center]]
