Wendigo

A wendigo is a creature out of Algonquin mythology, noted for eating human flesh. A wendigo could possess other humans and turn them cannibal, or a human who ate human flesh could turn into a wendigo.
In October 2007, Chaz Villette and Daphne Worth discussed how various legends, including that of the wendigo, might derive from gammas of preindustrial times. [1] Later, in the DVD extra "Mythology", Daphne Worth and Hafidha Gates had a somewhat similar conversation.
