Timeline Notes
On November 22, Chaz made a LiveJournal entry saying "Great *&^%()%(%% timing, universe." This presumably refers to being called away from Erik's funeral for this case.
Two days later, in an "intentionally cryptic" entry, he wrote "That? Totally felt even better than I anticipated." This presumably refers to the chewing-out Chaz gave Stephen Reyes at the end of the episode.
Pre-Air-Date Speculation
According to Elizabeth Bear's LiveJournal, the first sentence will be "November was the perfect month for a funeral." [2]
Teaser text for "Wind-Up Boogeyman" was included in the DVD extra "Acronyms". The first part of the teaser read:
- As Caroline walked forward to cast down the first fistful of dirt, Hafidha's phone buzzed against her thigh. She jumped, not sure if she were furious or relieved for the distraction. She knew already who was calling and what the text message would be before she slid her hand into her pocket and pulled out the device.
- The LCD screen said, Wtf. Sorry. It cant wait.
- Hafidha closed her eyes, just for a second. A distraction. Somebody is having a worse day than me. Thank God.
Erik (Notaboy) Holt's last known LiveJournal comment was timestamped at 12:30PM on November 17 [3] and Hafidha's "have to go to the hospital now" post was timestamped two and a half hours later [4]. All this leads to speculation that "Wind-Up Boogeyman" involves Erik's death and Hafidha's reaction.
